Make Trains!

Make Trains! is our ongoing series of DIY projects for kids’ wooden train layouts. Most of the projects will also work for diecast (Take’n’Play or equivalent) or motorized (Trackmaster or equivalent) trains. Except, of course, when we get around to finally making our own wooden trains. (We have all the parts. You can imagine how excited the Little Engineer is about that project!)

Whenever safety and fine motor development allow, I try to include the Little Engineer in the creation of these additions to our train sets, either as a helper or, preferably, as the maker himself.
