Pink Train Sets, Toy Trains, and Gifts for Kids

December 2, 2014 By Jessica Petersen Leave a Comment

Girls can play with any color of trains, and boys can play with any color of trains — plain and simple! I consider all of the trains I recommend here on Play Trains! to be for both boys and girls. However, while one shouldn’t assume that trains for girls have to be pink, if a girl likes the color, it’s great that there are pink train sets out there for her. Similarly, boys who like the color pink or, like my son, just like color in general, are fortunate to be able to add them to their collections. But sometimes pink trains can be a little hard to find. In an attempt to solve that, I’ve tracked down pink train sets, pink toy trains, pink train accessories, pink engineer overalls, and even a pink train table, and narrowed them down to the toys and gifts I think are worth taking a look at.

Pink Wooden Trains and Pink Train Sets

  • Thomas Wooden Railway – Rosie ( US / UK / CA ): Rosie is basically the little sister version of Thomas — being a tank engine, she’s similar in shape to him, and follows him around in a younger sibling sort of way. Our wooden Rosie has been a well-liked member of our train collection.

  • Boston MBTA Commuter Rail Toy Wooden Train ( US )
  • Glitter Wooden Train Tank Car ( US )

Other Pink Toy Trains

  • Green Toys Train, Pink/Green ( US / UK / CA ): This is a super cute train set, very appropriate for toddlers, but probably great fun for preschoolers, too. It comes with two little engineer bear figures, and you can open the roof on the passenger car to put the bears in it as well as in the gondola car and the engine’s cab. The best part is that Green Toys makes their toys out of recycled milk jugs, so it’s BPA-free and food safe. We have the blue and red version on the way to us, and I’m imagining using it to play train picnic.
  • Pink Model Trains
    • Williams by Bachmann Trains: Steam Girls Set Train Set ( US / CA )
    • Lionel Trains Pet Shop Diesel LionChief Remote Set ( US /
  • Hello Kitty Train Toys
    • Hello Kitty Funnyland Amusement Park Toy Set  ( US ): The Little Engineer’s friend Strawberry Kitty (a little Hello Kitty plush he picked out as a toddler) gave this to him for Christmas two years ago. He especially wanted it because it had a little Dear Daniel figure so he could be “Blueberry Kitty”. It’s a bit tricky to get the train on the tracks, but it’s a fun set! For more passengers, we added the figures from the Hello Kitty Busy Book ( US / UK / CA ).
    • Hello Kitty Fun Fair Fantasy Train ( US / UK / CA )
    • Hello Kitty Train & Fun Fair Ferris Wheel Playset ( US / UK / CA )
    • Hello Kitty Express Train ( UK )
    • Hello Kitty Apple Play Garden ( UK )
    • Mehano Hello Kitty Fantasy Train Set ( UK )
    • Mookie Hello Kitty 95 Piece Train Station Unico Set ( UK )
  • My Little Pony Friendship Express Train ( US / UK / CA )
  • Orange Tree Toys Animal Puzzle Train ( US / UK / CA )
  • Fisher-Price Little People Pink Zoo Train ( US / CA )
  • Bandai Ressha Sentai Tokkyuger Train Union Series 1-5 Ressha Gattai DX Tokkyu-O ( US / UK / CA ): A lot of words in the name of this toy, but here’s the simple version: this is a transforming train toy, with five colorful trains that together form a giant train mech. (Seriously. Search for the show on YouTube…it’s crazy and awesome.) And one of them is pink! The reviews say it’s a pretty well-made toy, too.
  • Rosie from Thomas & Friends
    • Take-n-Play Rosie Toy Train ( US / UK / CA )
    • TrackMaster Rosie ( US / UK / CA )
